What is MyLogin?

MyLogin is a tool that allows for quick, easy and secure access to applications via an easy-to-use dashboard for both students and teachers

Log in Methods

MyLogin offers 4 different types of login methods. Your school admin will choose which of these they want you and your students to be able to use and distribute the appropriate credentials to you. Simply click on the type of login method you or your student has been provided. Then present or enter your credentials to access the dashboard.

If you cannot see the method of entry that you expect to, please contact your MyLogin admin at school as they can manage this.

Magic Badges:

These are unique to each user, simply hold the magic badge up to the camera to log in.

Emoji passwords:

This is a 6 emoji combination that's unique to each user.

Passwords:

This is a more conventional combination where the user will enter their email and a password assigned by the MyLogin Admin - A new password will then require to be entered by the user upon first login.
The username is the email for the pupil that you will see against the pupil on your teacher dashboard.
Passwords that have been generated by a MyLogin admin are only valid for 24 hours and will need to be changed upon first log in.

PIN code:

These are 5-digit PINs that expire after 8 hours. As a teacher, you can generate this code for students as the easiest way to have them access their dashboard in the event they lose their other credentials.

Setting Up MyLogin

MyLogin set up will be handled by your school admin. They will set up accounts, distribute credentials, set up your devices, choose which log in methods you can use and add the apps your school works with to your dashboards.

  • You may wish to have MyLogin as a homepage for your pupils or your admin may do this for you. If you do want to do this yourself, please bookmark:
https://app.mylogin.com on the pupil's web browsers. The first time you visit MyLogin on a browser you will need to search for and select your school.

  • After that is done MyLogin will remember your school each time you visit MyLogin on that browser.
  • To log into your teacher account in a browser simply head to app.mylogin.com and log in with the credentials provided by your MyLogin admin.
  • Once logged in you will see that you have two teacher areas, "My Classes" and you will also see "My Apps".
  • My Classes allows you to see students from all groups, you can filter these by the groups of students for which you are the teacher. Use the filters in the top right to filter by group or class and search by name.

MyLogin SSO features

What does it look like for teachers?

My Apps (if your school has access to MyLogin SSO): These are tiles added for you by your MyLogin administrator. Shortcuts may be quick links to things that do not require logging in (like BBC Bitesize or your school intranet). Apps are tiles that log you directly into web-based applications.

What does it look like for students?

Students have an app dashboard similar to your 'My Apps' tab. Here they can view tiles relevant to applications that your school uses. Admins can control which apps and shortcuts students and teachers can view, so your dashboard may look different to that of your students.

How can I support my students logging in?

Depending on the credentials used will depend on if your students need to remember their Emoji combination or keep hold of a magic badge (QR code). Through your teacher dashboard you can re-download your student's credentials. If MyLogin credentials need regenerating for a student you will need to contact your MyLogin administrator.

FAQs

What happens if I forget my password?

If you forget your password you can use the 'Forgot Password?' link and you will be sent an email to reset it. Upon using the link in the email you will be prompted to create a new password for your MyLogin teacher account.

What is 2FA?

2FA or Two Factor Authorisation is a log in protocol that requires 2 forms of identification to log you in. If it is enabled you must use your MyLogin username and password to gain access, after inputting your password you will be asked to also show your Magic Badge to access your account.
